Competition Wins | April 2020

Since I was young I have really enjoyed entering competitions as a hobby and I have had some really great competition wins as a result, with two of my favourites being an iPad and a years supply of Borders Biscuits! I comped religiously as a teenager but life got in the way as I got older. Quarantine at the moment is providing the perfect excuse to get back into comping again and I am excited to say that I have already had two competition wins! I thought a fun feature of my blog would be to share my competition wins monthly with you and maybe do some posts giving advice on how to win prizes yourself!

So I won two competitions in April, and both were from twitter. The first prize is a Predator Mens watch and second is a bundle of merchandise for the Troll’s World Tour movie that has just come out. These were both really easy retweet to win competitions on twitter and I got DMed as a winner!

These aren’t necessarily prizes that I am going to keep as they aren’t that relevant to me so I am going to give them away to people I know who will appreciate them. I don’t often enter competitions where I wouldn’t want to keep the prize but I did for these two as they were such easy entries but I am trying to stick to prizes where I will love and keep the prize but it is always fun to win and I always make sure it goes to a good home regardless!

In terms of how I enter competitions, I use different competition sites like The Prize Finder and Loquax to find competitions that are ending on that day. I try and enter all of those competitions that I would like to win and then often do competitions that are daily entry ones such as on other blogs or from magazines such as Marie Claire. I use the automatic entry form filler on Safari to speed up this process so that it doesn’t take me all day! Often I will enter about 50 competitions a day and sometimes more!

I try and look at comping as a hobby as of course there is never any guarantee that you will win any prizes. But I really enjoy entering competitions and imagining what I would do with the prize, would I keep it, give it away, especially if it is luxury items that I wouldn’t buy myself!

Do you have any questions about comping?
